Marketplace Ministry

I am about to graduate college, and am finding so many amazing opportunities and options before me on what to do next. I have noticed an interesting tension between choosing a job in the marketplace, and a job in ministry. This got me to ask the question, what really is ministry? I believe that we are all called to ministry. Each person ministers the Lord's heart in a very distinct and unique way. Isn't it amazing that your heart's ministry to the Lord is so unique, that no other can even attempt to copy it? If I don't choose to go into vocational ministry with a church or Christian organization, I still believe that there are unique ways in which I can turn my job into ministry. For example, right now I work as a property manager. I have the opportunity to show Christ's love to those I work with and our customers. I also have the opportunity to use the finances that God has provided me with through the job to bless those that need finances to support their ministry and missions. I think that as believers, we all play a part in the Great Commission. If we are not the ones that are "going" to the lost, than we should using our prayers and the resources that the Lord has given us to "send" those that are!
