The human element of communication has multiple aspects to it that we need in order to understand it. As human beings, we have to communicate to survive. Humans desire it even if they are the biggest introverts on the planet. We want to be understood and that cannot happen unless we express ourselves in a way that other people can hold on to or at least make an attempt at. Relationships are formed in order to make communication possible in the wake of human existence. Communication as a field of study is influenced by people for people only. The beauty of studying communication is that everyone is entitled to their own definition of what they want to study in this field. Communication is a system made up of both verbal and nonverbal codes through which we need in order to interpret and understand the world surrounding us. I enjoy studying communication because I am able to connect other aspects of life to it as well. I think that relating ecology and communication is vital because you cannot have any sort of ecology without communication. In nature, humans are in need of communicating about not trying to control it so much. We need to be in discussion about stopping the expansion of cities without expanding our gardens or forests. Overall, I believe humans need to communicate more about the ecologies we live in to better our future and keep nature alive and thriving.
