THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY OF OUR GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT (1 Cor. 14)

The Prophetic. It is an aspect of the Christian life that is shrouded in mystery and confusion. Many are afraid of it. Many are obsessed with it. Many are gifted with it. The gift of prophecy is one of the most beautiful gifts that God has given to the Church. God is a God who loves to still speak to His people. He is not a dead God. He is not a God that changed after the 1^st century. He is a God that is the same “yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). As sons of God we are all to be led by the Spirit of God. Hearing God’s voice is not something reserved for the special elite. It is not something that some can do and some cannot. Is there a specific call on people into the office of Prophet and are there some with actual prophetic powers as their primary gifting? Of course there are. But as sure as there are those with the gift of faith, yet all must have faith; and those with the gift of mercy, yet all must have mercy; there are those with the gift of prophecy, yet all must prophesy. Holy Spirit is a wonderful God. He wants to have a relationship with us where we speak to Him in prayer and He speaks back to us through the Prophetic. Let us all desire to prophesy, that we may speak the oracles of God.
