In The Ecology of Eden, on page 419, Eisenberg encourages us to leave pieces of nature in place to do what they have evolved to do. I agree with him on this. Too many times we believe that the idea of helping is to do something about it. In regards to global warming, Eisenberg warns of making any adjustment to climate change. He says, “Any adjustment of, or adjustment to, climate change will need the help of the animals, plants, fungi, and microbes of the rain forests, wetlands, oceans, and continental shelves. In providing that help, they will move in mysterious ways. Our attempts at management will only get in the way (419). God made things for a reason, so we should not be too eager to help, otherwise, we could have a negative effect on them.
