TRUE
IDENTITY AND CREATED VALUE
The Good News of Jesus Christ is truly a wonderful thing.
We, as humans, were created to be sons and daughters. That is our purpose and
destiny. God did not make trash, and He did not create us wicked and
disgusting. He made us as beautiful and perfect. He said “it is good” when He
made us. When we came into the world, we were innocent. We had the seed of
Adam, the tendency to sin, in us, but we were spotless. As we grew, that seed
grew and we sinned. We broke the connection that God wants to have with us and
we live in a false identity of sin. That is why people are always angry, hurt,
and annoyed. That is why man has started wars and murdered and stole. We became
children of wrath. When Adam sinned, death entered the world and through one
man all died. Through one man, the reality and consciousness of sin came into
being and the Creation has been groaning for the sons of God to be revealed.
But there is a Man who has come to take upon Himself the sins of the entire
world. This Man was the Son. He was made like us in every regard and He was
tempted as we are, but without sin. He did what no man before Him had ever
done, but was fully capable of doing, being perfect. He lived born of a woman,
under sin’s dominion, in the likeness of sinful flesh so that in His death we
might die to sin and be free from its hold and through His resurrection we
might be made whole. God sent Jesus to tell us that we are worth His blood. He
came to restore us back to our original image because we have created value and
worth to God. Jesus died and was marred beyond recognition and took upon our
sin identity so that we could take upon His son identity. A scandalous
exchange. A glorious transfer. A beautiful love.
