Managers vs. Fetishers (class reading 2)

We have gone over several times what managers and fetishers are, according to Eisenberg. From what I read in chapter 22 of Ecology of Eden, I think both sides need to take a wider view of the world. Eisenberg talks about this a little bit when discussing the two different sides and how neither is correct. But where can the middle ground be found and both sides come to a solution everyone agrees with? A big step to get to that point would be to listen to the opposing view with an open mind and try to understand the reasons behind their way of thinking. It seems to me that both sides have the same general goal: to protect the environment. But, they take very different routes as to how to get there. I can't say exactly where this middle ground is and what the solution is, but I know that if both types of people become entrenched in their views, we won't be able to make any progress. It's important to look at all aspects of how a certain action (i.e. a possible solution for environmental issues) would affect both the environment and human society.
