Tree of Knowledge - In Class Reading #2

The textbook brings up the question, why should there not be machines in the garden?  I think there should be.  In order to do work in the garden, we have to have the tools and technology to do so.  If we do not have the resources we need, our end product will not be as productive.  For instance, if people are using their hands in order to work the ground they will not be as productive because they could be doing ten times the work by using a machine.  This section talks about how ugly and brutal machines can be but they do create works of art.  Look at a beautful garden in your neighborhood.  The only reason it look so fresh is because somebody used a edger to make the cuts so fine.  The grass is level because of the lawnmower which has an awful sound but creates a work of art.  I do think that machines should be allowed in the garden because they make it more beautiful when they are there for a short amount of time and do the work they were meant to do.
